It’s Not Just First-Aid: A Fireman's Mission to Empower Kids on Shark Tank

This Wednesday, November 5, 2025, our family Dustin, Michelle, Penelope, Everly, Adeline, and Stokes is stepping onto the Shark Tank stage with our company, Warrior Kid Medic.
You might see us as the "San Antonio firefighter family" or the "family with four kids on Shark Tank." But we hope you see us for what we truly are: a family on a mission to empower kids. To create more leaders, people of service, and to replace fear and freeze with action.
As a 21-year retired San Antonio Firefighter-Paramedic, I’ve seen so many times that in an emergency, if someone had just done something, the outcome would have been better. I wanted to equip my kids with simple tools and simple training. But I looked at the "kids' first-aid" market and saw a massive lack.
I went to buy a good kid friendly kit for our kids they seemed to all just be bandaids and cute stickers - no real capability, so I started designing my own.
We realized the problem wasn't just the kits. It was the mindset. We were teaching kids to pretend to be helpers instead of training and equipping them to be helpers. We decided to change that.
The Difference It Makes: From Scared Kid to Confident Helper
Think about this: what a big difference it makes to a kid to have the skills to help.
When a child has real skills, they don't just see chaos; they see a way to help. Their identity changes. They're no longer the scared bystander. They're the helper. They feel just like a fireman or a medic. They feel like a HERO! We’ve seen that beautiful mindset develop right in front of us so many times when teaching these skills.
This is about more than just knowing how to use a bandage.
It builds life-long confidence: A child who has successfully helped in a small emergency – even a scraped knee -believes they can handle the next big challenge.
It builds a service mindset: It teaches them to look for ways to help others, to be the person who steps up.
It builds leaders: It teaches them to stay calm, communicate clearly, and act with purpose. To ultimately do what is right.
It’s normal for kids (or anyone) to be afraid in an emergency. We are equipping them to move beyond that. We want them to know that if something happens, they can help.
Empowerment Starts at Home (And It's Free)
You don't need a medical degree to give your child this gift. It starts with you.
Take the time to hang out with your kids and teach them these very basics. Start simple. Do they know your full address? Do they know how to call 911? Do they know how to apply pressure to a cut?
Turn it into a game. Make it a "camp-like" experience, just like my wife, Michelle, has done for years at Camp SkyWay. Make it fun, not scary.
If you need help, our training videos are free on our website. We created them for families just like yours. We want to give this knowledge away because that’s what our mission is all about.

A Tool to Match the Mission: The Medic Multi Tool
To make this training simple, we created tools for empowerment. Our flagship product, the Medic Multi Tool, is the one we're so excited to show the Sharks.
The triangle bandage is such an undercelebrated, affordable, versatile, compact tool. We improved upon it to make it a fun, engaging, tangible symbol of empowerment for kids.
It’s a simple cotton triangle bandage, but we printed instructions for its many uses right on it. It’s a tool that teaches you how to use it. It’s perfect for practicing and real world use. From a tourniquet to a sling or splint, it turns "what if" into "I can."
What I love most about it is that while most first aid tools get tucked away and forgotten about, we actually USE IT ALL THE TIME. I’ve cleaned up spills with it, used it to tie something off with, as a scarf when it got colder than expected. Our kids use it as a hair tie, a head band, for real scrapes and cuts, as a “hobo sack” and so much more. And, they play (train) with it. Then wash, stuff, reuse. It is always front of mind, which beautifully creates an ever present mindset.

Thought it couldn’t get better!? We also created a Quick Draw Case. Think of a sleeping bag stuff sack. After you use or train (and wash) don’t worry about folding it nice and neat, just stuff it back in and your ready. We always leave a little tail out for the quick-draw.

Our Family's Motto: "Do Good. Be Good. Share."
So, who is that "firefighter family" on Shark Tank?
We're the Titzman family from San Antonio, Texas. And our family and business run on one simple motto: "Do Good. Be Good. Share."
Do Good: Give kids the tools and confidence to "do good" in an emergency.
Be Good: Build the character and service mindset to "be good" to others as leaders.
Share: "Share" your time, training, and tools with your family, friends, and community.
That's the mission we're bringing to the Sharks. That's the mission we're bringing to the world. God put us on a path and we are so blessed to walk it.
Join the Mission: Watch Us on Shark Tank!
